Hello, world!
I am a Bachelor of Education student at York University and am anxiously waiting to finish so I can begin my career teaching. Within the next 6 months I could end up staying in Ontario, moving to Alberta, or moving to the United Kingdom. Traveling would be great, but I aspire to end up living in Alberta or even British Columbia. Have you ever been there? I highly recommend it!
I'm probably one of the biggest nerds you will ever know, but I'm proud of it! I like outer space, playing video games, playing board games, dungeons and dragons, reading, creative writing (fantasy), watching epic movies, sword collecting, etc.
My true passion outside of teaching is definitely playing guitar. I absolutely love music and constantly find myself playing until 3 or 4 in the morning with school the next day. If I look tired in the morning, that's why! If you have never tried to play a musical instrument, I suggest you do. It's great for the soul and always there for you when you need to express yourself.
I
love to read scientific literature and my friends often poke fun at me after
hearing my enthusiasm to read the new books I buy. The book I am currently
reading as I write this is called Creations
of Fire by Cathy Cobb and Harold Goldwhite. It explores the history of
chemistry from alchemy to the atomic age. There is something fascinating about reading
how some people devoted their entire lives to one specific idea that led to a
revolutionary theory that was eventually proven wrong a thousand years later. A
passion for what they loved drove them to meeting their accomplishments and
this pushed science forward. I am passionate about science and it feels natural for me to want to teach science and
mathematics. I want to inspire people to devoting their lives to what they feel
passionate about.
Well, I guess I will end my first blog post ever there.
